The removable Extended arm allows you to use panels wider than the actual flatbed. This modification is becoming more and more popular, not at least on the Premium 540/220 (width 220cm / 87in) model.
Use the chart in the product data sheet to calculate the length of your Extended arm. Fill in needed substrate width X. And fill in the needed maximum thickness of substrate Y.
